Spraying Pesticides In Buildings Are Out
If there is only one thing you need to know about Environmental Coalition Incorporated, it is that we use alternative methods to control pests compared to other pest management firms. Simply put: we do not proactively spray in any building we service. In fact, we have operated this way for almost thirty (30) years. You, your team members and your building occupants can breathe easy knowing that we will use the most effective means possible to control pests without the use of spray or liquid pesticides. We also never recommend indoor fogging or broadcast spray applications. Why? Spray and liquid pesticides are volatile. As the liquid dries, it produces an off-gas that lingers in the environment. Air handlers do not separate these gasses, instead, help to push and pull these off-gasses into other areas outside of the original treatment zone. Small doses of pesticides comingling with indoor air is not something we want any of our clients to have to deal with.
The Original Houston-Based, Commercial-Only Pest Professionals
Most pest control companies start out in the residential services field, but Environmental Coalition Incorporated is different. The founders of ECI started out in the commercial market, servicing office buildings in the 1980s. Decades later and we are a well-established company that property management professionals have come to rely on for their preventative pest control and pest management needs. Not only are we constantly educating ourselves on the latest pest management protocols and procedures, but we also take a very active role in learning about building structures. Food, shelter, and water are key components of any ecosystem. If you do not fully understand the shelter portion of where a pest resides, you cannot adequately understand how to eradicate the pest.
Having a specific pest issue? Our team can assist. Here is a short list of pests that we control:
- Bed Bugs
- Birds* (Pigeons, Grackles, Sparrows and Vultures)
- Flies (Phorid, Fruit Flies, Gnats and more)
- Pantry Pests (Weevils, Beetles and more)
- Rodents (Rats and Mice)
*Most bird species, including Vultures, are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 which makes it illegal to capture, harm or kill a bird without a federal permit.
Clients looking for LEED certification for New Construction (LEED NC) or Core & Shell (LEED-CS) or those seeking LEED EB O&M (Existing Building Operations & Maintenance) certification or re-certification should review our track record: over 75% of Houston-area LEED EB O&M certified properties utilize our pest control services.
